Louisiana PATHS is working to implement a Community Based Model to enhance substance abuse treatment options in conjunction with HIV/AIDS services within the Shreveport- Bossier City area of Northwest Louisiana where racial and ethnic communities are highly affected by the twin epidemics of substance abuse and HIV/AIDS.
With a primary goal of reaching high-risk individuals, the LA PATHS PROJECT staff works from both community and street outreach. We help clients assess their risk for HIV and if appropriate, provide them with HIV Testing services, educational materials/condoms and referrals to other social support and/or medical services.
As a faith-based, faith- led, project, Louisiana PATHS works to provide a Dorcas experience to a desolate condition. Pursuant to this goal, we help clients achieve a greater level of independent living by promoting "holistic care" for "whole" people.
